Christmas ~ Part 4 of 4 ~ My Parent's house

On Christmas Night we went down to my parent's house (a whole 20 minutes away) for Christmas dinner and to celebrate with them and my brother, Christina and their new baby. My parent's also had some friends of theirs from church come for dinner. (Yes, Hailey brought her dog, Sally-Ariel)
I loved that we already did gift exchanging between my parents and us, as did my brother and family, so this night was focused more on dinner and fellowship with each other.
We had a fabulous dinner!

David Jakob's first Christmas! Only 11 days young.
Hailey was really into the show on The Food Network. So much so, she pulled up a chair pretty darn close!
We did have gifts to exchange with Nate and family, since he was working and Chris was at another Christmas celebration when my parents came up to our house for Christmas morning. So after baths, the girls each had a gift to open,
then we Skyped with my other brother, Aaron's family in CA., then played Settlers of Catan,
I think Andy had the best seat in the house, getting to hold Baby David.

Even though my parent's only live about 20 minutes away, we stayed the night at their house so that we could do "Christmas Breakfast" the next day.
One of my favorite breakfasts my mom used to make was the dutch baby pancakes, so instead of our traditional Ollie Bollens, I asked if my mom would teach me to make those. YUM! We all thought that mom and I did a perfect job,
then Hailey played dominoes with Opa. She loves to play dominoes with him whenever they are together. She is getting really good at it too, and even beats him! I'm sure she'll love when he teaches her chess.
We then headed home and for the next several days we stayed in with Holiday Hangover and the girls played and played and played with all their new stuff.
I know we are very blessed to live near so much family, but it is extra special to be around them all during the holidays. Each and every day of our Christmas celebrations was very special and memorable to me and our family of 4!
