Tea with Oma

Last week Oma hosted a tea for the girls. Hailey talked on and on about going. At one point she even said, "and we get to drink real tea!" They were both pretty eager to go.
(here's a few pics of them at the house before we left to go down to Oma's... they accessorized themselves).

Once they walked into Oma's house, they were immediately drawn to the table that was already set and even had Mickey Cookies waiting for them.
You could say they barreled through the lunch and downed their tea.
Not much sophistication went on at this tea. Although Hailey did drink with her pinkie up.
I think they were so excited that they didn't really know how to contain themselves.
When Hailey told Andy about the day, she said, "We had Mickey cookies with chocolate on them!"
They were really good, they were like little shortbread cookies with chocolate on the bottom. Those were actually the inspiration for my Mom to do the tea for the girls.
My Mom even had cute little hats that she crocheted for the girls, so they wore those throughout the tea.

Oma helped Tegan a little, but she also did a little stirring on her own.
Along with the tea and treats, the girls had PBJ sandwiches, which Hailey wanted to cut up smaller,
and Mom and I had Chicken Caesar Salads.
There were also strawberries,
scone muffins and graham crackers with frosting, per Hailey's request, which was also one of my favorite snacks my mom made growing up too!
We also had cheesecake balls.
I think they had a great time!
They even ended the day with some dominoes with Opa. Hailey is very into playing dominoes now with Opa, and she even legitimately wins the majority of the time.
The girls love their hats! They want to wear them everywhere! They've worn them to church, to the gym, to school... pretty much everywhere we went this past week. Hailey even wore Tegan's hat today to school. I guess she wanted to switch it up a bit since she already wore her own?

Thanks, Mom, for a great tea and a fun memory and the darling hats! We all had fun!

Here's another day of them in their hats,
